Co-founder of Indiegogo, Danae Ringelmann, the daughter of small-business owners, witnessed how hard it was to get a loan. Her site provides a democratic approach to fund raising. The company was launched in 2008 and by 2014, Danae and her partners had raised more than $40 million of venture capital to grow the platform and expand internationally.
