Faculty Factoid

Did you know? The director of our MSBA Program (Master of Science in Business Analysis) Professor Stewart McHie has lived on three continents and served as the Global Brand Manager for Exxon Mobil for over thirty years! We have a resident expert of global marketing and world cultures! To top that, he gets a 10% discount every time he buys gas from Exxon? Not too shabby.

Student Spotlight

Introducing our Student Spotlight, Matthew Albanese! Starting his day off with a morning run around Brookland before classes, you can usually find the senior management major working a shift at the Pryz Info Desk, heading to evening mass or adoration, or playing pick-up basketball with friends. Matthew is passionate about the automobile industry, and is grateful that so many of his professors incorporate this topic into their lessons; as well as engage him outside the classroom in career and life discussions. His favorite class here at CUA was Dr. Torres’ Business Ethics, as many business schools overlook the concept of ethics into their teaching. He enjoyed the discussions and hearing the different viewpoints of his classmates. He credits The Busch School on having a “second to none” faculty. “The faculty here really do care about you, and they will personalize your learning experience.” Matthew’s proudest moment in his four years at Catholic was serving as a Resident Minister in Campus Ministry. “I was very fortunate to grow in community with these people who I now call my brothers and sisters, and looking back I am proud of all the work we did to help further instill faith amongst the campus community.” He is grateful for the opportunities he has had to strengthen his own faith, and for the open environment in which nothing is forced upon you. He has been very active on campus during his time at Catholic, hosting a sports-talk radio program on WCUA, and currently serving as a Major Mentor and Dean’s Student Advisory Council member. Look out for Matthew running his first 10-mile race in Georgetown this April, and don’t hesitate to talk to him if you need any advice on cars, Catholic, or business!
