The Compass: Volume 1, Issue 4

This Week at a Glance: Week of Feb. 6

Ready for six more weeks of winter? Last week, Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog in Pennsylvania, saw his shadow indicating winter weather is here to stay. So to warm up, head to Starbucks, or better yet, to Murphy’s on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. to see Student Experience Director, Julie Larkin. If you find yourself and other #buschschool students doing fun things on campus or in the city, send us your pictures at Busch-Marketing@cua.edu.

Student Spotlight

Good morning, CUA Busch students! By the time you’re reading this, our Student Spotlight, Bridget King, will have already finished her morning run, experienced history at its finest, and crushed a stair workout in the heart of our nation’s capital. Three days a week, Bridget participates in the November Project, a fitness movement that features workouts at the Lincoln Memorial. When she is on campus, it is still hard to keep up with her! This junior economics major is active on campus with the Ultimate Frisbee Team, the Sailing Team, the Center for Academic Success, Program Board, and Student Government. Don’t stop to breathe yet-she has also run the Navy/Army half-marathon and participated in CUA on Wall Street. In the midst of her jam-packed schedule, Bridget still knows how to relax and have fun. Her favorite class in addition to her business classes, has been her acting class that has prepared her (if all else fails) for a career with SNL. If you can’t find her on tv, look out for Bridget in the hallways of Opus where she serves as RA or speeding through the national mall with a frisbee in her hand!

If you would like to nominate a Busch student who goes above and beyond in academics, athletics, service, or student life, please fill out this nomination form

Persimmon Report

After the first graduating class audit, it have been found that 125% of the Senior Class are postponing their job search to spend May-August in Europe finding themselves, or at least more instagram followers.
