Student Spotlight
The countdown to graduation has begun for many seniors – especially for this week's Student Spotlight, Katie Beatson.
This Senior Accounting Major will be moving to New York City this summer to start her full-time job at Ernst and Young. Throughout her years here at CUA, Katie has taken the position as Freshman Chair, Sophomore Chair, President and now CEO of the Accounting Society. She enjoys networking among students and professionals in the area and, she says, “I think it’s a great way to meet new students while learning about working in accounting.”
Katie’s favorite course at CUA has been Personal Finance with Professor Enzler. She enjoys the practicality and importance of the course for her future endeavors.
Her advice to prospective students is to work hard, to step outside your comfort zone, and to try new things and experiences. As an Accounting major, she worked very hard to make it possible to take a semester abroad, and says, “Studying abroad in Rome was my favorite experience. I loved experiencing new cultures and learning a new language. It was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself.”
So, watch out NYC! Katie will be taking the city by storm!
Persimmon Report
#seniorrealness on twitter: “Today my orthodontist kept asking me about when I'm going to apply for jobs and where I want to work, and that's the most stressed I've been.”
